“When
I was in high school, roller skating was an important social
event that took place every Wednesday night during the summer.
The evening consisted of free skating to music and skating “routines.”
One I especially enjoyed was where groups of three skaters would
join hands and skate around the hall. At some point an announcer
would signal that the middle skater should skate forward and
join the next group of three. It was a great way to chat with
different groups of people.”

| Pierce Hall Community Center’s
development council announces a series of dining events throughout
the summer to benefit the restoration of Pierce Hall in Rochester.
Five area residents will be opening their homes and kitchens,
offering guests an opportunity to meet their neighbors, make
new friends and enjoy a great meal, while supporting the renaissance
of Pierce Hall.
